When you've mixed a beat you like, you've already laid some groundwork for the melody. Don't think about lyrics for now. Just mime your way to a pattern you think sounds good. Use something simple like dudururu... or lalalala... and keep miming until you're satisfied.
Good vocals fit the rhythm of the beat. You may find that staying on beat gets harder once you introduce lyrics. Don't worry! That's normal. If you're struggling, focus on the drum. You can even mute the rest of the loops while you do that.
Once you've found the drum beat, tap your foot in the same rhythm and keep it going while you sing; just like a metronome. Don't get discouraged if you don't get it right away, keep at it and you will get there quicker than you think!
Overtune allows you to use up to four simultaneous vocal tracks. If you wish, you can also use a voice filter on each. Try using additional tracks to add some harmonies to your songs. Use filters to add depth and character.
That's it for now. Keep creating with these tips in mind. If you need more, you can always find help in the Discord community.
